Capricorn New Moon

Artist Emily Balivet

Tomorrow’s Capricorn New Moon on December 23 will be full of potential opportunities at 9.16 pm in the position of 1 degrees and 32 minutes of Capricorn, its 2nd degree. The Sabian symbol is “Three rose windows in a Gothic church, one damaged by war”, this is the result of waste. The necessary realization by any individual making a violent use of collective power, that it will lead to the inevitable destruction of some of the values ensuring group-integration.

Sol and Luna will form an almost exact quincunx aspect to asteroids Mnemosyne, Goddess of Memory and Writing and her daughter Urania, Muse of Astrology and Astronomy. Adjustments may need to be made to how we understand the history of astrology! The Capricorn Sun will be applying conjunct to the asteroid Hygeia, Goddess of Healthy Practice, forming a T-Square with Jupiter opposing Ceres the dwarf planet representing Mother Earth and Agriculture.

Jupiter had entered Aries for his second stint in 2022 making his exact square to the Sun, just 3 hours after the Summer Solstice in Capricorn, on the morning of December 22! Jupiter had already had a five month-stint in Aries from May 11 to October 28. He will remain in the sign from December 22 to May 17 for a second five-month sojourn. In some ways it could be said that this energy could relate to having the courage (Aries) of your convictions (Jupiter). Will you dare to follow what you believe in?

Chiron the Wounded Healer will have Stationed Direct at 8.30 pm, less than an hour before the Capricorn New Moon, at 11 degrees and 56 minutes of Aries, being the penultimate outer planet to change from retrograde motion, leaving only Uranus to Station Direct in January! It will be time to get over any fears and insecurities about your ability to follow your dreams and become the person you know you really aspire to be!

With the Sun and Moon in the sign of Capricorn, the focus of the New Moon will be more generally around:

• Being realistic and practical about your ambitions
• Taking your responsibilities seriously
• Gaining external recognition to raise your public status
• Making plans and strategies to achieve your potential in these areas
• Judging life from its external appearance, people by their assets
• Being serious, conservative, and favouring what is proven and traditional
• More emphasis on your practical needs than your emotional ones
• Helping the people you love to build their future

The area most aligned with the position of the New Moon can found in your natal horoscope chart, however if you only know your Sun Sign, then affirmations around the areas indicated on the next page are likely to be the most powerful, but some adjustment may be required to the life areas on the following page:
