The Capricorn New Moon on December 31 will be at 9.26 am positioned at 9 Capricorn 43’ so in its 10th degree.
The Sabian Symbol is “An albatross feeding from the hand of a sailor”. Dane Rudhyar felt this represented trust. The overcoming of fear and its resultant rewards, the communion of love and compassion bringing together the most disparate of individuals.
The first decan of Capricorn is ruled by Jupiter and corresponds to the Two of Pentacles in the Tarot, or Harmonious Change. Being flexible, able to “juggle” one’s resources whether they be practical, financial or energetic.
The Sun and Moon in Capricorn are unaspected by any other planet. The standout in the chart is the tight Mystical Rectangle formed by oppositions between Mars in Leo and Pluto in Aquarius as well as the Nodal Axis. Mars is somewhat in charge of this situation, possibly his retrograde status will facilitate his working in harmony with the North Node in Aries he rules, and working productively with the South Node in Libra that seeks for their integration. Chiron will have Stationed Direct the previous day and Pluto in Aquarius, in opposition to Mars will be separating from conjunction with the asteroid Asclepius (Healing). So there is potential for peaceful resolution to take place rather than aggression.
The Sun and Moon will be closely applying to Pallas Athena (Intellect and Civilization) in Capricorn and making helpful sextiles to Iris (Truth and Intuition) in Pisces and a powerful stellium of asteroid goddesses in the sign of Scorpio, Mnemosyne (Memory and Muses), Metis (Wisdom and Mother of Pallas) and Asteria (Starry Sky). This forms a harmonious triangle of Hope.
The Nodal change of sign from Ares/Libra back to Pisces/Virgo on January 12 2025 will pave the way for a more spiritual and peaceful 18 and a half months ahead!
