2020 is going to be a year of extreme transformative change, providing you are prepared to do the hard work that’s involved. The outer and slow moving planets Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto will all be making connections in Capricorn and Aquarius which are the signs of the Zodiac in which Saturn has rulership, or can work most truly to its innate nature. Saturn is the Lord of Karma and Time, wanting you to be practical and realistic, to do the right thing for your life purpose and growth.
During January the emphasis on Capricorn will be most intense, as the Sun and Mercury will be spending their annual cycle in the sign, along with the South Node of the Moon and dwarf planet Ceres. Saturn and Pluto will be starting a new 33 to 38 year cycle, coming together on January 13. This last happened in 1982 and 1947, over 500 years ago in Capricorn. On a global level this signifies an ongoing redistribution of power and resources, which impacts governments and financial systems and of course the manner in which we are using the Mother Earth’s resources. We can already see this playing out on in the world of politics and business, as well as the weather and natural disasters.
However you have control over your own talents and resources, both material and spiritual. You can review how you could use them more productively in a way that lessens the negative impact of global warming and materialism.
Where Capricorn and Aquarius fall in your chart is where you are capable of making the greatest impact during 2020/2021. You could also balance the impact where Cancer falls, by opening up and becoming more vulnerable, being more kind, loving and supportive to impact the opposite area in your chart. The Lunar Eclipse with the Cancer Full Moon on January 11, may open the door to how this could play out for you.
On January 1 2020 the Moon will be in Pisces so your emotions will be in high sensitivity, finishing the last cycle of the Zodiac from 2019. From 9 am to 1.30 pm this will be further sensitized by the Moon’s conjunction or merger of energy with Neptune, the modern ruler of Pisces. You may have entered the decade with significant and fantasy driven dreams. You may wake feeling somewhat overwhelmed and compassionate towards anyone who needs your support.
By the afternoon from 3.30 pm to 8 pm the Moon will connect with the asteroid Nephthys, shadow sister of Isis the Egyptian Goddess of Love and Magic. Like Isis, Nephthys acted as a guide to people entering the world through childbirth or leaving through Death. The sisters married their brothers, but Nephthys preferred Isis’ husband Osiris so she tricked him into believing she was her sister to become pregnant with his child. Hence her shadow reputation. Maybe New Year’s Day is a good time to contemplate your own shadow while you are coming up with your New Year’s Resolutions.
