Sabian symbol for 10 Sagittarius

The Sagittarius New Moon on December 1 will be at 5.21 pm in the 10th degree of Sagittarius. The first New Moon this month will be at 9 degrees 3’ Sagittarius, (while there will be a second on December 30 w at 9 degrees 43’ Capricorn)! I don’t buy into two New or Full Moons in a month making it a “Blue” Moon! To my way of thinking that is just caused by mankind fiddling with the calendar to suit various religious beliefs and giving us our crazy months of varying length! A true “Blue Moon” is when there are two falling in the same sign, giving us an opportunity to work with the energy over a doubled period of time!

The Sabian Symbol is “A theatrical representation of a golden-haired goddess of opportunity”. Dane Rudhyar commented that this was a symbol of forced growth. Society’s efforts at dramatizing the greatness of what it offers to the ambitious person!

Nine degrees of Sagittarius is within the first Decan of Sagittarius ruled by Mercury and corresponds to the Eight of Wands in the Tarot. This energy relates to taking advantages of opportunities that present themselves through swift action. Overall Sagittarian energy relates to moving towards achieving what one believes in so the ambition is not by necessity around working towards materialistic goals!

The chart for the lunation shows the Moon and Sun connected to Mars in Leo and the North Node in Aries by a wide triangle of harmonious trines, a Fire Grand Trine! Sol and Luna will be in a tight partile conjunction with asteroid Urania, the Muse of Astrology suggesting we should pay attention to what the starry sky is telling us! Maybe she is in fact the “golden-haired goddess”!

Considering the asteroid connections tightens up the Grand Trine considerably, as Mars will be conjunct Minerva at 8 Leo 40’, the Roman name for Pallas Athena; and the North Node will sit with Pythia, Apollo’s oracle priestess; and Salacia the wife of Neptune at 9 Aries 05’. Interestingly this echoes and strengthens the messages shared from the symbols.

We can achieve our independent destinies in the North Node through taking timely action which benefits the community with Mars in Leo, based on our intuitive inclinations, strongly guided by the Sagittarian energy in the sky above! I have written more about the astrology of this entire Mars Retrograde cycle with Pluto in Aquarius and the asteroids (especially Urania) in the next edition of Timelords magazine due out mid-December! It will be available to download free of charge at that time via https://cosmicintelligenceagency.com/timelords-magazine-issue-11-2024

The New Moon will make a wide square to Saturn in Pisces, suggesting there may be a struggle involved in the actions indicated by the Grand Trine but this will be likely to be overcome by the fiery pull of purpose coming from Mars and the North Node.

With the Sun and Moon in the sign of Sagittarius, the focus is always on:

• Optimism, ambition, looking at the big picture
• Being idealistic, examining philosophy and your beliefs
• Global vision, planning change, travel and adventure
• Being restless and impatient, needing action and movement
• Learning from experience
• Imagination and curiosity
• The great outdoors
• Freedom

The area most aligned with the position of the New Moon can found in your natal horoscope chart, however if you only know your Sun Sign, then affirmations around the areas indicated below are likely to be the most powerful
